One Missed Call 1

Takashi Miike is a busy man, but his hard schedule doesn’t seem to be affecting the quality of his films. One Missed Call, released in theaters in early 2004, is the story of college student Yumi Nakamura, played by Shibasaki Kou (Battle Royale). Bored at a singles party, Yumi waits for her friend Yoko, who arrives to the party late after finishing work. While Yoko is changing clothes in the ladies room, she receives a phone call with a spooky ring tone she has never heard before. To make things creepier, the call appears to be from her own phone. Yoko listens to the message, which is dated three days in the future, and hears her own voice say, “It’s started raining.” The short message is followed by a bloodcurdling scream. Several days later, the events heard in the message actually occur, and Yoko meets a gruesome death. However, Yoko isn’t the last person to hear this strange ring tone. Others begin getting similar calls and meeting similar fates, and Yumi finds herself in a race against time to solve the mystery before her own number comes up…

One Missed Call 2 (2005)

Synopsis:
When the curse from director Takashi Miike’s wildly popular 2003 chiller mutates to seek out the cell-phone users who thought they had outsmarted it, a journalist and her friends must travel to Taiwan and seek out the source of the deadly mystery before the horror goes global.
The terror started when the phone rang and the receiving party would bear audible witness to their own violent demise, only to come face-to-face with their ultimate doom mere moments later. Now the curse has infected the phone books of its victims, calling every number and spreading death and chaos across all of Asia. Upon uncovering the malevolent source of the deadly calls, the race is on to stop the nightmarish cycle as it rapidly begins to spread out of control.

One Missed Call Final (2006)

In this final episode of the hugely successful “One Missed Call”, Emiri Kusama (Meisa Kuroki) and her classmates are on their way to South Korea for the oversea school trip. In middle of the class excursion, a familiar but dreadfully eerie melody signal reaches a cell phone owned by a student. Attached to the e-mail sent was a picture of herself dead, with the message: If you transmit this cursed photo to someone else, your life will be spared. The students rush to pass the photo on to save their own lives, sparking a deadly fight for survival – with cell phones.

One Missed Call (2008)

Beth Raymond is traumatized when she witnesses the gruesome deaths of two friends just days apart. Even more disturbing, she knows that both of them had received chilling cell phone messages--actual recordings of their own horrifying last moments. Impossibly, the calls were received days before they died, but each death occurred precisely when and how the messages foretold. The police think Beth is delusional--except for Detective Jack Andrews, whose own sister was killed in a freak accident that bears a strange similarity to the deaths of Beth's friends. Together, Jack and Beth work feverishly to unravel the mystery behind the ominous calls. But even as they get closer to the truth, Beth's cell phone begins to ring with an eerie tune, and the readout displays: "One Missed Call."
